Disney’s Mars & Beyond 6 of 6 – Travel to Mars

Werner von Braun worked with Walt Disney to produce this section about how we might get to Mars. This was actually sent to President Eisenhower & was the current thinking at the time, which became so scaled down to what we did to get to the moon! Rare Walt Disney Space series from 1957, speculating about Mars. Remember, almost 50 years ago, only Sputnik had gone up 2 months earlier!

Explain to me how you can “neutralize gravity.” Gravity is fundamental to the structure of the universe and a inherent property of mass. “Neutralizing gravity” implies neutralizing mass. In other words, neutralizing gravity would make you go poof! Want to volunteer for that physics experiment? The screen writers at Disney didn’t know what they were talking about.

These days, its more likely going to take tapping into ‘dark energy’, since that seems to be the driving force opposing gravity in the expansion of the universe. And its out in space, like wind and currents are on the ocean. (so you don’t have to carry your ‘fuel’ with you, like a rocket does)

Disney actually did really good research here. No, its nothing like perpetual motion. I think YOU need the competent science consultant. Or a science dictionary. ;-)

The Pentagon/NASA have actually had research in this area since the 50s, like they say here. Ever see the floating bolt science experiment? Held up by electro-magnetism. Even works with the iron in a body, like a frog or a bug. (check YouTube) But like fusion, unfortunately, its still too far off for large scale use.

At :23 the narrator says that “a spaceship with an electro-magnetic drive to neutralize gravity” is the obvious answer for space travel. What??? Would that be in a spaceship powered by a perpetual motion machine by any chance? Where did Disney get such preposterous ideas? Couldn’t they have hired a competent science consultant?

those things are powered through radioactive decay. they dont generate alot of energy like thrust. thats still a long ways away to be developed. getting thermal heat through radioactive decay without use of turbines is very innefficient. end result is you just have a big battery made of radioactive stuff

NASA Announces Request For Information On Von Braun Collection : On the eve of the 40th anniversary of the historic first moon landing, NASA is seeking ideas from the public, academia, and industry about how to analyze and catalog notes from spaceflight pioneer Wernher von Braun into an electronic, searchable database or other system.

jkt0812, The idea was never abandoned,
In fact , nuclear powered space craft have been in use by the US and Russia since the early 60’s.The Galileo space craft (in the 80’s) was the US 24 space mission since 1961 to be partially or totally nuclear powered. Almost all modern weather, communication and navigational satellites are at least partially nuclear powered. This fact is only almost 50 years old, just thought i’d let you in on it !!! Dont believe it? (google it )

    luridplanet,
Um, i hate to tell you but the US has used nuclear powered space craft for almost 50 years. As have the Russians. As a Matter of fact the “Galileo” space craft (in the 80’s) was the 24th US mission to be partially or totally powered by “nuclear” sources. Almost all modern communication, weather, and navigational satallites are at least partially powered by nuclear power. just thought i’d let you know!!!!!! P.S. If you dont believe me, “google it”.

Old Disney was white washing these Paperclip Nazis,. Von Braun, by enslavement, drove Jewish prisoners to their death building rocket weapons for the Third Reich.

Antimatter/Matter combustion, though that’s many, many years ahead of our time. So are harnessing tachyon fields and localized wormholes. For now, there are rockets. Noisy, dangerous, explosive, polluting rockets. At least they get the job done.

they ran it from the start.but they really ruled when they founded the federal reserve bank.lincoln tried to oppose it and was killed by the rothschilds and rockafelleres.he found out too late what the civilwar was really all about.

quote jerry pournelle”i always knew id see the first man on the moon, but i never imagined id see the last”.if humanity is to survive it must go beyond the the solar sistsem.i hold a patent to an orbital launch delivery system and they supressed it.ill be killed if i tried to use it.

We need to start exploring the universe know!!! For the benefit of man-kind and the survival of the species.

What other way is their to travel long distances?

America was great before the jews took over.

The plan for nuclear spacecraft went out the window because of the risk of radioactive contamination from an explosion while still in the Earth’s atmosphere. Rockets do explode on occasion.

von Braun didn’t join the SS until they threatened to cancel his work (and his life) in _1940_ unless he signed up. 4 years before the war’s end.

    That’s hardly life-long and dedicated.

YOU would have been forced to join if you were there and were useful to the Nazis. They didn’t give you a ‘choice’.

  22. thedukeofantioch on November 16th, 2009 3:55 am

both scientists where ex SS and dedicated nazis all their lives.

because puiting them up there is risky and very expensive.

  24. clockworktim on November 16th, 2009 3:55 am

This is so frustrating. We, humankind, could be at this point if we’d put aside petty tribal warfare & earthbound mayhem. In my whole life I’ve never seen this great Disney show, would’ve changed my life more had I as a child. I was tipped off to this in Hoagland’s Dark Mission book- wow! Its 2008, this is the direction we SHOULD be heading not the reverse which IS happening. There are those who contend a secret space mission is underway, conceivable given the havoc the vast majority wreaks.

According to new sources, the trip to Mars has been cut to six months instead of thirteen as stated in this old video.
