This was song was originally done by Richard Berry, the guy who did the original version of “Louie Louie.” Kurt Cobain was a big fan of The Sonics. Cobain said that The Sonics, despite recording their drums with only one microphone, had the best drum sound he had ever heard. You’ve got to admit, it sounds pretty awesome.

Ortleyman, I am totally with you. Where were these bands when we were young? Airwaves were flooded with the Archies and Bobby Goldsboro when we should have been hearing this.

I don’t mind the crap I was offered on the radio but this is better by far.
The one song you’ll ever need. Brilliant.

It pisses me off that this stuff was not played on the radio when I was growing up. I had to endure lame shit like “Southern Rock” and “Classic Rock.” What a fucking nightmare. Thanks to ‘Little Steven’s Underground Garage’ bands like ‘The Sonics’ are getting some respect. It only took 40 years.
